Everyman Chess, an imprint of Gloucester Publishers, is the world’s preeminent chess publisher and part of the Play Magnus Group. Founded in the late 1940’s as Pergammon Chess, the company has over 80 years of experience in publishing chess books for every level of player. The list includes almost 500 titles in English and 20 in German.

Everyman Chess is proud to publish twelve magnificent volumes of Garry Kasparov’s work , including his five volume analysis of his predecessors as World Chess Champion, three volumes on his titanic matches against Anatoly Karpov and a further three volumes of his own greatest chess battles.  This represents arguably the greatest collection of chess writing by the world’s greatest chess player of all time. The company is equally proud to publish works by Yasser Seirawan, Vladimir Kramnik, Alexei Shirov, John Watson, Simon Williams, Richard Palliser, John Emms, Neil McDonald and Cyrus Lakdawala amongst a roster of over 140 highly accomplished chess authors.

The company has also pioneered electronic publishing. Everyman Chess books are available in multiple formats, cbv, pgn and epub, enabling players to follow games on their Kindles, desktop computers, iPads, tablets and mobile devices through the Chess Viewer app for Apple and Android developed by the company.
